My special friend, Emma the Corgi

Shadrach the sad Neo Mastiff

Arrrooo fellow pets and humans! This is a very sad announcement for me and Mom. I sat outside for awhile today and contemplated my friendship with Ms. Emma. She was a friend of mine from the park. I always thought of her as a Queen bepaws she had a special chair her Mom, Sue Ellen, pushed her in and sometimes she had a carriage with wheels to walk with. You see Emma couldn’t use her back legs. Well rather than repeat myself, here is our original story about Ms. Emma A Healing Success. The sad news is, Emma passed away this week and now she is in heaven. Both Mom & Sue Ellen said they can just picture Ms. Emma running and playing and young again. Well I know that is certain. We dogs just know these things. We wanted to lend this moment as a tribute to her and our friendship. She will be greatly and sorely missed by me, Mom, Sue Ellen, and all the dogs and humans who were graced with the pleasure of knowing our Ms. Emma…

Emma the amazing Corgi

Emma could even drive a car as you can see! I was so amazed with her but it never ever stopped me from teasing her and trying to get her to chase me, hehe. I never saw her as physically challenged bepaws she bossed me real good, WOOF!

Here is what Sue Ellen shared with Mom yesterday in her usual ever practical yet wry humor…

We said good-bye to Emma yesterday. Through most of her invalid years she was bright and chipper, interested in everything, and always ready for a snack or a meal. She just ran down, and we knew it was time. Her focus was inward instead of on us, and the dog who knew every food word in the English language no longer cared about bacon.
It seems strange, but in my mind’s eye I now see her running by with her doggy smile, merry and young.

I wondered a lot if Emma would’ve overcome the spine thing if we had known you and the essential oils a year sooner. She did get her twitch reflexes back, could scissor her legs back and forth, and became annoyed if we tickled her rear ankles (with the front ankles she could just administer a mouth correction to us).
At least Shad has the best of care–give him a hug for me.
love,
Sue-Ellen

P.S. We got two guinea pigs from the rescue society in Rio Rancho, as I wanted a pet/pets to love and enjoy while I think about the next puppy. Their names are Antonio & Isabelle (no doubt to be shortened over time). He is a long-haired variety with a black pompadour in front like a 50’s rocker, and she has short red and white hair and an expression straight out of Beatrix Potter. She LOVES being brushed and purrs in rhythm with the brush strokes.

P.P.S. Going to bed with wet tea bags on your eyelids after sobbing all evening does make you feel better.

Have a pawsitively tail waggin’ forever home, loved day, WOOF!

    Hi Kim and Shadrach,
That is truly a beautiful tribute to your wonderful friend that has crossed the rainbow bridge. I also believe that Ms. Emma is running and having fun playing with all the other beautiful animals that have crossed before and after her.

    Purrs -n- blessings,
    Leigh
