AB 1634 Kills Pets

AB 1634 Kills Pets

With all the crime in this country you’d think assemblymen and legislators would be FAR more concerned with more important issues than our gonads, WOOF! Oy and vey (as mom says) what will you humans think of next to AR annihilate us, all in the name of ethical and humane, grrrrr! Levine doesn’t like dogs, as he said he doesn’t even own one and is tired of paying for those who do? Ruh? I don’t think he’s ever sent me a raw meaty bone (something I’m eating now… and my humans paid for that not Levine), treat, or paid for a vet visit…what a BONEhead he is…and he twists the truth WOOF!

***Update from the CVMA: A Letter to Veterinarians***

From PetPAC:

Assembly Bill 1634 is an inhumane measure to eliminate all mixed breed dogs and cats in California. Only select registered purebreds that can get a government-issued permit will be legally allowed to breed. Owners with unspayed or unneutered pets will be fined $500 and face possible criminal penalties.

AB 1634 kills pets. Statistics show that MORE dogs and cats are euthanized following mandatory spay/neuter laws as shelters are flooded with relinquished animals. AB 1634 will be an immediate death sentence for many healthy pets in California.

Please sign PetPAC’s petition urging State Senators to vote against AB 1634.
With your help, we can reach our goal of presenting Legislators with 50,000 signatures showing our united opposition to AB 1634.

AB 1634 is bad for California. The groups behind the measure have made it clear that their intent is to eliminate 85% of all family owned pets. If AB 1634 becomes law, California will be the poster child for an invasive and overreaching government mandate that is both irresponsible and inhumane.

Please sign the petition today – then send it to your family and friends to sign, too.

With your help we will defeat AB 1634! Thank you for your efforts.

Sincerely,
Bill Hemby
Chairman, PetPAC

More from PetPAC:

Tax cheats and criminals.

That’s how Assemblyman Lloyd Levine is characterizing responsible cat and dog breeders in California.

Assemblyman Levine, author of AB 1634 to require the forced surgical sterilization of nearly all pets in California, made his comments on KPBS radio in San Diego during a debate Thursday with Kelley Moran, PetPAC’s Campaign Director.

“The fact of the matter is that many of the breeders represented by PetPAC are not in compliance with current tax laws – and a number of other laws,” said Assemblyman Levine.

As a retired police officer, and a dog and cat owner, frankly I’m shocked and disappointed with Lloyd Levine’s personal attacks on the law abiding citizens who oppose AB 1634 as the most invasive and irresponsible anti-pet measure ever to come before the State Legislature.

Leading the fight to defeat AB 1634, PetPAC represents law enforcement, pet owners, dog clubs, cat associations, the blind and disabled community, responsible breeders, farmers, ranchers, animal welfare groups, veterinarians, and common-sense citizens.

The deep-pocket backers of AB 1634, including PETA, are spending a fortune to ensure the bill passes the Senate. Imagine what’s next on their legislative agenda if AB 1634 becomes law in the largest state in the nation.

We are in the fight of our lives and we need your help to stop this inhumane measure.
Please make a contribution to help PetPAC defeat AB 1634 – before it’s too late.

If you’ve already made a contribution, thank you! If you want to do more, please join PetPAC’s Blue Ribbon Team and start your own community fundraising campaign.

Sincerely,

Bill Hemby
Chairman, PetPAC

In trying to research this ridiculous legislation, I have found rather early on that all of us affected by this bill are taking on a very parochial stand: K-9 police dogs should be exempted. Purebreeds are the enemy. Certain breeds like pit bulls should not be targeted. If we as reasonable citizens and pet lovers don’t all stand together to defend each other, this will pass. Breeders are not the enemy. Pit bulls are not the enemy. Check out Lloyd Levine’s campaign contributions the last time…or is PETA paying him now?

So…Lloyd Levine made these contributions to these Assemblypersons: The amount was $ 3,300.00 each.
    6/12/06 Assemblywoman Wilma Carter
    5/30/06 Assemblywoman Lori Saldana
    5/31/06 Assemblywoman Mary Salas
    5/30/06 Assemblywoman Betty Karnette
    5/30/06 Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani

All of these people voted “Yes” on AB 1634.
Granted these contributions were made a year ago, but maybe all these people in the Capitol Building owed Levine a “favor”.
Can anyone find out what these contributions were for??????
