Hi Wendy,

You are welcome and I will continue to post this kind of information here and on our other blog, A Dog's View

Everything you wrote up here is absolutely right Wendy. A friend of ours, repeat guest, Dr. Stephen Blake on our Animal Talk Naturally show is a veterinarian who was diagnosed with pesticide toxicity about 9 years into his traditional practice. Guess where he got this toxicity from? You guessed it, from the flea/tick topical products he was using on his clients pets.

He was told to either quit his practice or die. He chose a better option: To STOP using the pesticides. That meant that every pet he saw had to be clean of these pesticide residues before coming to see him. And so he got well and so did the animals!

It's too bad it takes something to happen to us in order for us to see what harm it is doing to the animals. Dr. Blake is a HUGE voice for the animals now I can assure you!

Thanks for the link so people can find alternatives. I feed Shadrach a raw diet and also use aromatherapy sprays on him I make myself during the flea/tick months.

Take care and keep spreading the word! Look for my article on natural flea/tick prevention in Animal Wellness Magazine's April/May issue.

Have a tail waggin' day!

Hi Kim,
I want to thank you for posting the post on pesticides and our pets. I have personally seen things happen with my own dogs and I used Frontline tops spot .I NO Longer use these Products and never will again!! I have found a natural product that i used back in the 1980's,i thought that the company was no longer around ,but i was wrong they are still around and going strong! I am so glad i found this product Because IT WORKS . And it is Natural. Here is the website if you would like to check it out!!
http://www.protec-pet-health.com/
One thing that really upsets me is how vets are telling people that these pesticides are safe, well they are not,and there is no way they get into the blood stream , well they are wrong!!They do!! And in several reports i have read I have found it does . Thanks, for this site to inform people ,I am on a mission to help people understand what these products are doing to there dogs and cats . Some will listen and some will not. Allot of people like the fact it is easy and you only have to do it once a month . Well Body Guard is easy also you just sprinkle on your dogs food once or twice a day, very easy, and cost is cheaper.I paid 15 a tube for Frontline and a 8.5 oz can is 19.95 plus shipping and will last my 4 dogs 6 weeks and I have medium to large size dogs. O one other thing is a report I found that we are at risk as well if you pet a dog or are a dog groomer, the residue come off on you and thats up 4 weeks after application ,and what about if dogs are playing with each other they are taking it in through there mouth, and what about children Thanks again , Wendy

To hear the pesticide companies talk you would think those killer chemicals were as sweet and healthy as honey. Not. They will kill your pet quicker than old age.
