The big, ongoing battle for the gonads

The big, ongoing gonad debate

From Gina Spadafori at Pet Connection (June 2008): Forced Spay/Neuter

Okay those are my privates and just thinking about them being taken away makes me squinch my face, WOOF!…except Mom says that already happened, sigh. At any rate the point is, for me it happened far too young for a large, giant breed - and four months is WAY too young for ANY breed. I sure wish I had the answers to this but if it were left up to us dogs, I’m betting we’d all say, LEAVE OUR GONADS ALONE, WOOF! Now certain factions believe they can speak for us and say it makes us healthier. That makes ZERO sense considering we’re BORN with these parts. For the uninformed, gonads are NOT latent parts, WOOF!

God doesn’t make mistakes but humans sure do. What is the answer? Well this sure ain’t it bepaws it is NOT for our protection and it is NOT for our health and it is NOT for our longevity, that’s for sure. You see, it’s about ending domestic pet ownership and domesticated pets. Do animals suffer in shelters? Yep. Could things be done differently to ensure more of us make it out alive? Yep go to www.NoKillAdvocacyCenter.org to find out how. And while lots of animals worldwide need help, importing them into our shelters FROM OTHER COUNTRIES that then inflates the numbers so these factions can have their day in court doesn’t make a bit of sense to me. While I’m sharing some dog sense, I have proof if you want it…but sitting here as a eunuch, it’s a bit late for me and I have the health challenges to prove it, grrrrr!

Have the courage to seek the truth.– David Cottrell

I’ve been barking on this issue for some time so just do a search here on Bark N Blog to get a lot more news on the gonad issue. And just so you know, upwards of 80% of the pets in this country are already neutered, so why mandate it? Why keep the influx of imported animals into shelters?

And by the way I DO know what the heck I’m barking about hehe:
Barking Dogs Have Something to Say

Here’s the news:
This Means War
Pet Sterilization Raises Health Concerns

From PetPAC:

With only weeks to the final deadline, AB 1634, the mandatory sterilization bill, is heating up in the California Legislature and the dirt is flying from our opponents.

They are back at work attempting to pass AB 1634. Assemblyman Lloyd Levine the author of the legislation is scheduled to meet with members of the Senate Local Government Committee next week to press for its passage.

Meanwhile, Judie Mancuso, Campaign Director for AB 1634, was lobbying in the Capitol this week. She has stooped to attacking PetPAC supporters as “underground breeders”… “including many who evade current tax laws.”

Can you believe the desperate lies they are attempting to spin?

Mancuso and Levine believe PetPAC stands in the way of the passage of AB 1634—And they are right.

Will you help us send a message to Lloyd Levine and Judie Mancuso that they are not going to defeat PetPAC?

Please make a contribution today in support of PetPAC to stop AB 1634.

Remember our opponents financial resources appear unlimited. We cannot let them win this campaign because they outspend us in the final weeks.

Will you help us fight back? Please make a contribution to give us the resources to fight their deceitful but cash filled campaign. The fight for AB 1634 is in the final weeks and we need your help today.

Stay tuned for important campaign plans we will be releasing next week. Thank you for helping to protect the rights of pets and their owners.

Sincerely,
Bill Hemby
President

Note from BNB: - it’s weird how these gonadectomy pushers always feel the need to lie and distort the truth to promote their anti-pet agendas. And no, I’m not a breeder, and neither is Shadrach obviously since he is neutered - but it was done WAY too young for a giant breed as he stated above. Just read our articles here to figure out where we stand on these issues and you’ll find it isn’t on any one “side”. It isn’t about “sides”, it’s about taking back our power of attorney, and refusing the lie:
