The Rabies Vaccine: Dangers and Solutions
By Shadrach on May 29, 2008 in Dog & Cat Vaccinations, Pet Articles
Another outstanding article by my little friend, Chiclet! She really doesn’t pull any punches and is a straight-shooter which makes me sad she already has a husband, sigh. But at least she’s my friend, WOOF! And she tackles the scary topic of vaccines, WOOF!
Dr. Ron Schultz of Wisconsin University published his duration of
immunity on vaccines in 1999 http://svmweb.vetmed.wisc.edu/articles/68/5/39
The media (or the vets) would not put this before the public. Now here’s the article by Chiclet:

Mom has put up a new off-site page explaining how dangerous the rabies vaccine can be, and describing how you can help your dog cope with it or even avoid it in certain circumstances. (Click here to read it.) We hope you’ll take a look, even if you’ve seen the page we put up last year on our website. It’s easy to forget important details, and the new, updated page offers lots of must-have links. Top rabies vaccination experts have reviewed and approved it.

As many of you know, we believe my boyfriend Jiggy’s first rabies vaccination was responsible for his immune-mediated hepatitis, a disease he has been battling for almost seven years. We don’t want this to happen to one other dog.
We know a lot of your dogs have experienced major rabies vaccine-related problems: blood diseases, seizures, allergies, behavioral problems and more. If your dog has, won’t you please leave a note at the bottom of this new page to share your wisdom?
Would you also take a moment to sign up and rate the page? Vote by clicking the little stars at the top of the page: 5 is excellent; 1 stinks. The site provider won’t bother you again or put you on any lists.
Why bother? Visiting the site and rating it raises the ranking, meaning more people will find it when they’re looking for information about the rabies vaccine. These people will also learn about the amazing Rabies Challenge Fund—a nonprofit group working to set up a reporting system for adverse reactions and also extend the period between shots to seven years. This is very important work for dogs, some of whom are forced to get a rabies shot every year! Won’t you please help?
PS On this site, there’s an Amazon link to our book, Scared Poopless, and two other good books covering vaccination, but that’s not the reason to go. We hope you’ll learn more about this potentially dangerous vaccine and help with the Challenge Fund’s cause.
