Breed specific legislation - a bain of modern society

Breed specific legislation - a bain of modern society

Are we still mankind’s best friend or not? I wonder. BSL is cropping up all over the world like wildfire - blaming us dogs instead of you humans for YOUR irresponsibility. Yep, that’s how it has been since time immortal I guess: Adam and Eve started it, WOOF!

And now Verizon is jumping on the bandwagon using “pitbulls” in a new video commercial to promote a new phone of theirs! Can it get any more stupid??? Grrrrrrr! Below my blog post is some information on how you can contact Verizon to encourage them to pull this inane commercial that further exploits the American Pitbull Terrier only to promote a product, WOOF!

Mom made a new friend recently who told us about her daughter being bitten by a guardian breed dog like me…NOT the same breed but a guardian breed nonetheless. Anyway, what is sad to me and to Mom is that the dog was a rescue but not properly socialized or trained how to act in human company, especially with children. Now this dog is NOT our new friend’s dog. It’s a long story but suffice it to say that she does not blame the dog (thank God!) but the owners of the dog. Some day though the dog may hurt someone bad and he’ll suffer the ultimate punishment - not the irresponsible owners, rrrrufff!

Now if humans could get back to nature and stop watching all the huge propaganda and media sensationalism on TV then things might get better. AND if humans would do their homework BEFORE getting a dog, especially a rescue (we rescues have issues you know), and learn dog nature, BSL would not even continue to be an issue. So please, for our sakes, do your homework, learn dog nature and then do the right thing in training, socializing, etc. Please for us - our lives are depending on it!

Here’s the news
:
Pit bulls and owners given reprieve
Monthly National Legislation Report on BSL around the country
Police get new tools to deal with problem dogs

Outlawing dogs based on size alone, Beijing, China leads the way in this extreme racism against dogs:
Dog owners maddened by Beijing canine restrictions

I wonder if the Chinese government just hates dogs in general bepaws they always seem to lead the way in killing dogs for whatever lame reason they can come up with, WOOF!

A case of mistaken dog breed identity - AGAIN!
Owner’s Delight as Dog is Dogue not Pit (but DDA is Still Sh*t)

And the city governments want to give ACOs control over deciding if a breed is a um hehe “pitbull” (no such BREED) - without DNA testing who can prove what a mixed breed is based on looks alone??? And WHY based on breed? And what kind of sense does any of this make??? NONE! Listen to these shows on Animal Talk Naturally: Come to the Edge - Show #176 AND Dignity for Animals - Show #178 to find out the agenda.

From the UK’s Pet Parliament on BSL:
The Dangerous Dogs Act, don’t you just love it? End BSL

Yes I concur - END BSL, it’s just plain EVIL!

Subject: Calling Verizon

To all whom this concerns at Verizon,

Your TV ad for the new LG Dare cell phone is a disgraceful attempt to grab thrill seeking eyeballs for corporate profits. To portray a breed of dog as aggressive and vicious is serving to alienate many outraged Verizon customers concerned about the humane treatment of all dogs and the negative message you are sending!

Furthermore, your brand of gimmick advertising serves to bolster negative breed stereotypes of the American Pit Bull Terrier (aka Pit Bull). This breed already suffers from being demonized by myths, public misconceptions and legislative ignorance regarding dog behavior. Irresponsible ads like yours seek to credit and promote these stereotypes.

As a loyal Verizon customer for years, I feel compelled to cancel my accounts (both business and personal) unless you pull this ad immediately. Exploiting the plight of dogs who suffer as a result of media sensationalism and animal abuse will not be tolerated by a society moving forward to promote animal welfare issues.

Do the right thing. Dare to admit the ad was a mistake!

Yours truly,
