Jessie Johns my Rottweiler Sweetie!
By Shadrach on Nov 19, 2008 in Featured Animal Friend of the Week
Oh I can’t stand it! I have a REAL life admirer, friend, girl, uh well a girl I WANT to know in dogson, Jessie Johns the Rottweiler! Like Jessie James only a GIRL dog, WOOF! She just wrote me a letter so I’m going to share with you all her story and her beauty and well her story…oh I said that already. And now my face is all squished up in my LOVE snarl again! Well you know beautiful girl dogs get me all goofed up but even more so Jessie bepaws she lives right here in my city with our good friend, Cindy Johns of Johns Family Photography, WOOF! Remember Jessie’s BEAUTIFUL little roommate, Sophie, was my guest last week. Oh all these girl dogs, I think I may go into overload with LOVE, WOOF! Oh I almost forgot Jessie called me SWEETIE! I’m fainting right now…okay I’m back, whew. Here’s Jessie’s letter to me, a LOVE letter!
Hey thanks for letting me tell my story! I was born in the summer of 2000. My dad got me for my mom because our boy had gone to Highlands - whatever that is - and she needed a baby. Mom says I was the runt - whatever that is - but then she’s tells everyone how much I weigh - I don’t know why!
My favorite things to do are play in the water in the summer and play with those great toys my mom brings me. They are soft and make this wonderful squeek squeek squeek noise when I chew on them. I can play with my new one for hours and hours sometimes! My mom yells at me to take the toy outside but I can’t roll on the carpet if I do - so I don’t!
I have lots of little girls in my life. My folks adopted Sophie - you met her last time - she’s a pain but funny - I wonder if she’d squeek if I chewed on her??? She’s very small and gets under my feet sometimes. I hate when she plays with my squeek toys. Mom brings me three toys each time she goes away. She thinks one is for Sophie and one is for Mona and one is for me - HA! They are ALL mine! Mona is my sister Erin’s dog. She is way too hairy. She drove me crazy when they first came but now she’s ok and we both pick on Sophie.
The boy brought two more girls home one day. Melissa and Kayla. Kayla is very small and my folks get all gushy when she’s at our house. She’s very interesting and smells different than everyone else.
I am 8 years old now. I know that because mom tells me that I was born the same year as the next door neighbor boy and we grew up playing in the water together! When he was way smaller he would try to ride me but I wouldn’t let him. He thought it was funny that I don’t have a tail and he would try to grab my nubbin - made me pretty mad! He’s pretty much grown up and doesn’t have much time for me now but that’s ok, I get tired easily and running hurts my hips but it’s nice when he comes over and hugs me.
Just one more thing I’d like to share. I hate thunder and fireworks! Scares me to death! If dogs could cry I think I would!
I hope we can meet soon. Mom says you are really funny! I have a million more stories to tell but I’ll wait until I see you in dogson. Remind me to tell you about my big dog brother “Bob Barker” and Peaches and my human Uncle Bobby!
See ya soon sweetie!
Jessie

Jessie you should’ve called me to console you when you had the spider bite and whenever you are afraid of thunderstorms or fireworks. I’m not afraid of anything, WOOF! And I am BIG and strong hehe! Oh and if I can’t be with you, some things that could help you:
1. Mom’s Be Calm spray!
2. Phosphorous 30C (that’s homeopathy you can get in the health food store)
3. Flower essences which you can find at either www.floweressencesforanimals.com or the Australian Bush Flower Essences - look for a retailer in our area here www.ausflowers.com.au/
And Jessie I LOVE playing in the water the EXACT same way you do! And I’m 9 years old so we’re the PERFECT age together! Oh we have sooo much in common, WOOF!
