Handling kennel cough naturally!

wanna_go_outWhen I was a young dog, about 2 years old, I got kennel cough (Bordatella) from one of my girlfriends at the park. She got it from her groomer’s. And the thing is we BOTH were vaccinated, uh huh. Funny how now that I don’t get those nasty things anymore I don’t get any of the illnesses I used to. If you want to know more about the dangers of vaccines, especially the non-core ones like the kennel cough vaccine, then check out Dr. Patricia Jordan’s book, Mark of the Beast: Hidden in Plain Sight or Stop the Shots by John Clifton. But I am also a raw fed dog so that makes a HUGE difference, WOOF!

In fact, it was MOI who prompted my human to go back to school and learn the natural approach to animal care. She worked so long in traditional veterinary medicine as a tech that even though she was taking care of herself in a more natural way, it just didn’t occur to her to do likewise with me. But, I wasn’t taking no for an answer, hehe. I just did not do well with ANY kind of traditional care and I definitely wasn’t down for that nasty kibble either, WOOF! I’m a REAL dog who wants REAL food – being a carnivore you can figure out what that is.

Well my human met a guy named Mike at a business luncheon who told her that his dog wasn’t doing well on the traditional treatment of kennel cough which oddly and rather inanely I might add includes antibiotics. Something humans need to learn is that antibiotics do NOTHING against viruses. Kennel cough is a virus. (This article on Natural News can help you understand the difference: Do Not Kill a Fever: Fever Kills Viruses). The only reason the vets give the antibiotics is bepaws you humans think you have to go home with some kind of treatment and there are those veterinarians that are in this for the money not the animals. But this post isn’t about bashing anyone. At any rate, this human heeded my human’s suggestions and then went and DID them. His dog, Diesel, was well in FIVE days and now is a raw fed dog with a human advocating strongly for a natural approach, WOOF! My little pal, Louis, also had a bout of kennel cough and here is the blog post he shared about how his human helped him overcome the natural way Tails of a Koff.

Now there is a new website that can help you learn more about kennel cough and a natural approach to dealing with it at www.kennelcoughhelp.com. They do share the traditional approach there so my readers can ignore that and go ahead with the natural approach. But you do want to make sure you get a diagnosis to determine if what your dog is suffering from is indeed kennel cough and not something more serious or some other underlying problem. Go to your veterinarian and get a diagnosis first and then you can decide what route you want to take with your dog.

And if you’d like some guidance with the natural approach AFTER you’ve gotten a diagnosis, then you can contact my human by going to her consultation page at www.drkimbloomer.org.

Have a pawsitively tail waggin’, NATURALLY healthy day, WOOF!
