Lily & Bear, Raw Fed Puppies!
By Shadrach on Nov 25, 2009 in Featured Animal Friend of the Week, Natural Feeding
Oh boy, today I get to share my little second cousins, Lily and Bear – raw fed puppies! Okay so they’re not Neo Mastiffs but Husky/Lab mixes, but they do live with my human cousin, Sonia and her boyfriend Nick, so that counts as cousins hehe. Well hey, we dogs are all related anyway through our wolf and coyote cousins, WOOF!
Here’s the down low on these two pups. You see, they were giving Sonia and Nick such a hard time chewing up all their good human stuff right? So Sonia called my human, Dr. Kim, to ask her what in the world she ought to do about it all. My human encouraged them to feed a species appropriate raw diet, stop any toxin additives (you all know what I mean), etc., and of course to engage in some training and regular exercise for the pups.
Lily and Bear (and Ash, their kitten who I will be featuring next week) ALL took most readily to their new raw diet as the true carnivores they are, WOOF! That made my carnivores jaws gape wide in joy, WOOF! And now of course the pups have settled down and are not being so destructive. They are getting the right diet that isn’t loaded with all kinds of carbohydrates, food additives, byproducts, and junk fillers so no wonder they are doing better not to mention they are getting the good jaw exercise they need with the bones so they don’t need to rip up expensive human shoes and such.
My human gave Sonia & Nick a copy of her book, Whole Health for Happy Dogs, co-authored with homeopathic vet, Dr. Jill Elliot, to help guide them better and a few DVDs on training as well. Lily and Bear ought to be tail waggin’ happy and healthy little pups now, WOOF!
Stay tuned for updates as we share their progress. I’m always excited to hear of more dogs being naturally reared!
Have a pawsitively tail waggin’, NATURALLY healthy, raw fed dog day, WOOF!
